
Donald 'Del' Laverdure

Del Laverdure is an enrolled citizen of the Crow Nation, a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan, and a descendant of the Little Shell Band of Chippewa Indians. Del is an active participant in Indigenous and intergenerational ceremonies and his experience and work is born out of his lifelong relationships with Indigenous families and communities and healing from intergenerational trauma. Over his professional career, Del has served many Indigenous nations in a wide variety of capacities including testifying and advocating for tribal legislation in Congress and guiding Indigenous communities through federal agencies to obtain much needed resources. He served as the Acting Assistant Secretary, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior from 2009- 2012.
Del received his Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Certification in November 2021 and has completed SE Master Classes in Chronic Pain & Syndromes, Transgenerational Trauma, and Covid. He has been a SE assistant for beginning trainings in Bozeman and Anchorage and for a SE BIPOC beginning/intermediate training cohort. Del completed his IFS Institute Level 1 Training, participated in two Somatic IFS Retreats, and completed the Somatic IFS Certificate Program in May 2023. He’s also been a program assistant for an IFS Institute Level 1 Training in Canada. Del has co-facilitated two programs with Indigenous communities in the Crisis Safety & Stabilization Training Program and co-facilitated IFS and SE offerings with several other Indigenous communities.
